蜥木公園的前身建成于2000年悉尼奧運(yùn)會(huì)之前，西悉尼公園信托機(jī)構(gòu)委托McGregor Coxall對其重新進(jìn)行設(shè)計(jì)并對公園設(shè)施進(jìn)行拓展。委托包含公園的總體規(guī)劃制定以及規(guī)劃的細(xì)節(jié)設(shè)置和說明。具體被改造和拓展的區(qū)塊包括衛(wèi)生間、燒烤同野餐設(shè)施、兒童游戲區(qū)，活動(dòng)空間、橋以及一處全新大型停車場。場地的再設(shè)計(jì)以永續(xù)發(fā)展策略為依托，與所處的鄉(xiāng)野自然環(huán)境展開了細(xì)膩的對話。太陽能電池板為場地供電，引水沖廁，所有洗盥污水均被重復(fù)用于灌溉，可回收材料也被最大限度地應(yīng)用于項(xiàng)目中。游戲區(qū)的改建再次彰顯了永續(xù)發(fā)展的理念，通過兒童游戲水泵引入循環(huán)水，設(shè)立水道系統(tǒng)打造獨(dú)特且寓教于樂的體驗(yàn)。
